The house is fine and will serve your vacation needs— but let’s be honest, you’re not going for the house. You’re going for the beach. The back patio and waterfront is amazing. Parrotfish, mangrove snapper, sting rays and nurse sharks (docile, beautiful!) right off the dock. Unforgettable family vacation, can’t recommend enough.

A hidden gem. Extremely peaceful. Had the whole beach to ourselves. The water is constantly moving due to tides, which is nice as you can sit, swim or wade in the water and enjoy the cool, clean water going by. Has all the beach amenities you can ask for. Docking our 22’ boat was not problem. The management company was very responsive and took care of a couple issues immediately. Make sure to bring your own spices and some extra citranella candles. The house itself is dated but you don’t rent this place to sit inside. The outdoor area is second to none. Can’t wait to go back.

Really enjoyed the home and the views. Some of the amenities were missing or being worked on during our stay and we were not notified prior to our arrival. The dock was non existent until the day before we left as they were rebuilding it (was looking forward to doing some fishing from it), no fish or bait table, outdoor ceiling fan was broken, front door handle was broken, tree service was doing tree trimming one full afternoon/evening on right in front of our deck on the beach. Owner of property was there and was great to visit with and full of great information. I messaged Vacasa a couple of days prior to our 1800 mile trip to make sure everything was in order and recieved a "yes it is and you can't get a refund" response. Still had a great time and will be back.

The Zane Grey was wonderful! It fulfilled all of our needs. It’s central location allowed us to several different parts of the Keys, while also having a private beach area right off the back patio. The washer and dryer were so convenient! We had zero issues with the house. It was fully equipped with what is needed. We will definitely be back!

It was everything we could have imagined. The most beautiful location. The place had everything you need for the stay. The views were just what we wanted and the privacy was the best. My family was able to relax, kayak, fish and watch sunrise and sunset. We will be back here definitely. 10 out of 5 stars. Also, talked to the neighbors and got the history of the place and it made us appreciate so much more. If you want a private beach, beautiful views, this is your place.

This house has EVERYTHING!!!! The kayaks were fun, the snorkeling was AMAZING, the fish were biting (not many keepers) and the view was unbelievable! We stayed 5 days and enjoyed every single day! There were turtles, manatee, shark, and stingray all out by the dock. We only spent money on groceries and bait. We have a 21 yr old mentally and physically handicapped daughter that could lay in the shallow water with us or hang out On the Patio while we fished. The place was exactly what we needed. IT WAS HEAVEN!!! We will be back.

We had an amazing summer trip to this lovely beach house. The house was cozy and comfortable, but having access to your own private beach was the best! We were worried about the hurricane, but luckily, we just missed it. Perfect place unwind, unplug and enjoy the scenery. Get in the water and enjoy with some water-sports. Would definitely return with friends or family.

We loved staying here. We had 4 adults and 3 children with us so we rented both sides of the duplex. The house has everything you will need while visiting. One of the sides of the duplex was very musty when we arrived. We had to open up the windows to air it out the first night. The beach is gorgeous and there is sea grass in the water so that may deter some people. We enjoy snorkeling so the grass wasn’t an issue for us. When snorkeling in front of the house we saw a manatee, barracuda, stingray, sea turtle, and multiple other tropical fish. We fished from the dock and from the fishing bridge which is a short walk from the house. We are so grateful for ability to unplug and enjoy some family time. We are already planning our return next spring!

My sister's and I stayed at the Zane Grey April 24 - 29, 2019. We had an amazing time hanging out on the sandy beach and in the water. There were plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, water boards and other toys. There is a boardwalk down to the dock that was very helpful for my eldest sister who has had two knee replacements. The inside was very clean with plenty of towels, sheets and blankets. I will be renting this Vacasa again! Lee Ann

Nice spot for a quiet vacation. A bit hard to find as it is just before the bridge. Located between Marathon and Islamorada. 2&1/2 mile bridge is a GREAT morning walk. Fishing off of the bridge or from the property dock. Great deck for enjoying a cocktail or dinner. lots of "toys" provided i.e. paddle boards, kayaks etc. Overall the description on AirBNB is accurate. I'd rent this place again!!!!

This rental is paradise! We had our honeymoon here and every morning we enjoyed paddle boarding and every afternoon we enjoyed amazing sunsets! We will definitely be coming back!

Nice accommodations on the Atlantic side of the key. The outside space offered both covered and uncovered areas for sitting and relaxing. Nice beach and dock for swimming, snorkeling and fishing.

We went down for our anniversary with our two kids (3,7). The beach was very relaxing. The kids loved playing in the sand. There was a lot to do around the area for the kids too. I would definitely go there again!

The ocean will be your back yard!! our Family stayed over from Dec 29th to January 4th. The house has everything you need to have a comfortable vacation. My husband and I spent as much time as we could in the "back yard" we didn't wanna miss a second of the sunrise, sunset, birds, crabs, etc its just beautiful, so peaceful. The house is also equipped with beach chairs, kayaks, life jackets, boards for everyone to enjoy. The Tikki huts and bar are not longer there, but everything else looks just like the pictures!

Located less then a stone's throw to the water, this lovely location is perfect for a family to enjoy the beach. You will be located in a great location to enjoy the full keys from Key Largo to Key West .The locals are friendly and very helpful., we personally wanna thank the crew at Tildens dive shop for an absolute great day. If your looking for a great spot to enjoy the Keys without even leaving your backyard this is the place for you

This is a great house with an excellent location. We loved it because the unit provided great privacy while being right on the ocean. We loved to take walk up and down the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage train. Beautiful spot to watch sunrise and sunset.

The Zane Grey was a wonderful place to stay. In person it looks exactly as it does in pictures. It was clean and cozy. Beds were comfortable, rooms were a good size. You had everything you may need to cook and prepare meals. You basically have a private beach to yourself. There is no public access so no random people walking along the beach. It's very quite and peaceful. The internet connection as another reviewer stated was spotty, however that is what attracted me to the place. Would be a great place for anyone to really slow down from their daily grind.

Great location for exploring the Keys! We spent time checking out everywhere from Key Largo all the way down to Key West. Great apartment, plenty of room for our family to spread out (two children 19, 20). Nice to have our own beachfront! Our neighbors were very friendly and had some great suggestions! Right outside the driveway is the Henry Flagler 7 mile bridge - great place to walk, fish, or just watch the sunset!

This was the perfect beach get away with all the amenities. Only wish there was more days available for rent during our time frame. Beds were comfortable and great views! Had just about everything there for you if you want to cook. Definitely looking to stay in future.

Overall a great property - location cannot be beaten. Quietly nestled on the ocean, right off US1, the property is great for couples, single families, or groups of friends - especially if both sides of the property are rented at the same time. Decor was hokey and there were a few minor maintenance issues I noticed (back screen door was off track, and front door handle was cracked), but these things did little to overshadow the prime location. I will be back again and I've already recommended it to friends!

The location and the property were very nice and what we expected. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Bill, very nice guy. Also, Michelle, cleaning gal was very helpful and nice as well. We definitely will stay again sometime!

WOW, that says it all!!! Who says The Keys doesn't have many nice beaches? The Cabin was in a perfect secluded spot with private beach and boat dock. Just absolutely wonderful. We sat out at night and looked at the stars. The house was well equipped with quality furnishings and was clean. Even had a resident cat that would come and sit outside with us at night ! We were fortunate to have a nice young group of neighbours who "adopted" us for 2 days and fed us the lobster and hogfish they caught. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Stayed here for a few days with my son and husband. The water, just foot steps from the back door, is very shallow, which was perfect for our 4 year old, he entertained himself snorkeling and exploring the underwater "city," as he calls it. House was clean and well stocked. We cooked almost all meals in the kitchen. Took our boat and explored the Atlantic and the gulf. Nice little gem!

We stayed here last week, and everyone at work has asked me how our vacation was. The only word to describe it is "Perfect"! We had our 5 and 3 year old with us. The house is the perfect size. We never ate at the dining table, because we ate outside. But the kitchen is nicely updated, and everything we needed to cook was already there. The beach was outstanding. My kids really enjoyed swimming in the water. It stays pretty shallow which was nice. Everything was very clean, and we met the lady who cleans the home, and she was super nice. Everyone I talked to on the phone while booking the place, and even when I had questions were super helpful as well. We will definitely be staying here next year, and I can't wait!

My family spent 5 days at this rental on Layton Key. It was exactly what we had hoped for. Beautiful quiet beach and the blue Atlantic as our backyard. A perfect deck with sun and shade. Gas grill, corn hole and bocce provided. A very adequate kitchen with all the necessities. The living space inside the house was a bit tight, but in reality we spend almost no time inside. 5 days with our 14 and 12 year old kids...the large screen tv literally never turned on. Enough said. I would definitely recommend to those who really know what the middle Keys are all about.

We stayed here for a reserved bachelor party. We aren't too crazy so we wanted something relaxing but fun. This home did not disappoint! It has the most beach I have ever seen in the Keys, and its private! There was not a sole in site, with the exception of the people renting the adjacent side, but luckily they were fantastic people. The home was easy to access Islamorada or Marathon for events, but nice to come back to the peace and quiet of Layton. The dock is perfect for star gazing at night (most stars I have ever seen by far) or stirring up the bioluminescent organisms. I cannot say enough good things about this location! The only bad thing is when the tide gets low, it is pretty shallow over the grass beds for about a quarter mile and does not allow for much water activities. But that is it! Everything else was perfect.

Pet friendly, two bedroom duplex on the beach. Enjoy wonderful sunsets with your favorite beverage and relax. You can rent a boat and tie it up to the private dock. Cook your catch on either a gas or charcoal grill. Pack light because there is a washer and dryer on the property.

Family of six (with 4 year-old) celebrated mom's 60th birthday in style! The location was very kid and adult friendly. Staying in September might be different than March, but we didn't have any neighbors and basically the beach to ourselves. The shower was my sister's favorite (seriously, she took 3 showers in 2 days). We needed medical care for the 4 year old and the hospital was down the road and friendly. We ended up renting a boat just down the road at Pier 38 for a reasonable rate and did some snorkeling on a beautiful small reef. We saw turtles, sharks, eels, FISH, corals and grasses. It was a great surprise to a difficult process of finding just the right place.

This is an outstanding place for peace and privacy. Marathon has several places for buying fresh or dining in for seafood. There is a Publix and Wynn Dixie in Marathon.It is about eight miles to any adult beverage party places, but perfect for sitting under the Tiki and having a glass of wine. The beach is sandy. no booties required. Great for kids. Recently renovated and upgraded.
